Fredman achieves highest possible score in CDP climate assessment
Fredman Group has achieved the highest possible score for SMEs in the international CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project) climate assessment for 2024, receiving a grade of B (SME B). In the previous reporting year, 2022, Fredman’s grade was D.
“This reflects Fredman’s commitment and efforts towards systematic and impactful sustainability work. Key factors influencing this result include comprehensive emissions accounting across the entire value chain and science-based climate targets aimed at reducing emissions,” says Fredman’s Chief Communications and Sustainability Officer, Sara Hokkanen.
In the CDP scale, the highest A-level was not possible for SMEs last year, as the actions required for the top level were not considered in the SME assessment.
The CDP score comprehensively reflects organizations’ work in sustainable development and climate strategy. Fredman has participated in CDP’s climate reporting since 2017 (excluding 2023).
CDP Assessment Levels:
- Disclosure (D): Coverage of reporting
- Awareness (C): Understanding the significance of environmental aspects in business
- Management (B): Adapting operations to principles of good environmental management
- Leadership (A): Advanced leadership and impactful actions (not assessed for SMEs in 2024)
CDP is an international organization that maintains a global environmental impact assessment system for companies, cities, and states. In 2024, CDP climate ratings were awarded to 22,400 entities worldwide.
