Fredman acquires Peltolan Pussi, known for its bread bags
March 26, 2026
Finnish kitchen product manufacturer Fredman Group Oy has acquired Peltolan Pussi Oy, a Tampere‑based producer of paper bags. Peltolan Pussi manufactures paper bags primarily for the food industry; its bread bags are used by bakeries across Finland. The acquisition supports Fredman’s growth strategy and strengthens the company’s position in the professional kitchen market, particularly in the bakery segment. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
“This acquisition supports Fredman’s growth in the professional kitchen market and opens new international opportunities for both Fredman and Peltolan Pussi. Outside Finland, there is growing demand for high‑quality, fibre‑based products manufactured in Finland with excellent delivery reliability. By combining our complementary product portfolios, we can serve both existing and new customers even more comprehensively,” says Fredman Group CEO Per‑Henrik Hagberg.
Peltolan Pussi’s Managing Director Kari Hurme will continue in his role, and the company will remain a standalone brand as part of Fredman. The change of ownership will not affect Peltolan Pussi’s sales, production, or existing customer agreements.
Peltolan Pussi manufactures approximately 200 million packaging bags annually at its factory. In the previous financial year, the company’s revenue was EUR 5.7 million, and it employs 23 people.
According to Liisa Peltola, owner‑entrepreneur and Chair of the Board of Peltolan Pussi, Fredman is an excellent match for the company’s employees, customers, and partners.
“I believe Peltolan Pussi’s story will continue in capable and caring hands. The company now has significantly stronger capabilities to develop and grow”, concludes Peltola, who remains a minority shareholder in the company.
