  • Chefstein solution transfers from Fredman Group to CGI

A solution enhancing food safety and waste management joins the CGI Aromi product family developed for managing professional kitchens.

IT and business consulting firm CGI and kitchenware manufacturer Fredman Group have entered into an agreement regarding the transfer of Chefstein, a solution intended for the self-monitoring of professional kitchens, to CGI.

In Finland, Chefstein is a leading digital self-monitoring solution helping professional kitchens carry out self-monitoring in accordance with regulatory requirements in restaurants and on the premises of other food businesses. With self-monitoring, restaurants and other food businesses can identify and manage operational risk factors and ensure the food served to customers is safe in terms of temperature and other hygiene factors. Moreover, the solution helps prepare meals in an economically profitable way while minimizing food waste.

“With the Chefstein solution, CGI’s Aromi product family serves professional kitchens even more comprehensively. Chefstein supports professional kitchens not only with daily tasks but also in meeting statutory requirements,” states Mari Pispala, Senior Vice President of CGI Finland’s IP solutions, and refers to the HACCP requirements (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) stemming from EU regulation.

“Clients are content with the service, as Chefstein is a user-friendly tool for data management and responsible business. However, we have made a strategic choice to focus on our product and packaging business. It is therefore natural to transfer the solution to a company that has the best possible business and technological knowledge to develop it. I am convinced that CGI is the best possible home for Chefstein and the professionals developing it,” announces Peter Fredman, Chairman of the Board of the Fredman Group.

In addition to the technology, the staff working on the solution as well as its clients are transferred to CGI.
