The Finnish family-owned business Fredman Group has set up an advisory board to promote the company’s growth and internationalization targets. The persons invited to join the Advisory Board are Antti Merilehto, AI author and Chief Growth Officer; Marc Stierand, Associate Professor of Service Management and Founding Director of the Institute of Business Creativity (IBC) at the Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL); and Kalle Ruuskanen, strategist and influencer in the food service sector. The advisors will be led by Peter Fredman, owner and chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fredman Group.
“With this line-up, we will particularly focus on innovations and technological opportunities to develop the sector. This group is the right mix of solid industry expertise and fresh outside perspectives,” says Peter Fredman.
Last year yielded good results for Fredman. The company’s turnover increased by 18% to EUR 30.1 million (EUR 25.6 million in 2019).
The company is seeking growth in the domestic market, but also aims to expand further into international markets. According to Fredman, there is still a lot of work to be done in food safety and food waste reduction on a global scale. Chefstein®, Fredman’s digital kitchen management solution, is the answer to many of these challenges in professional kitchens.
Antti Merilehto, M.Sc. (Econ.) is an author on AI and investor in analytics and AI companies.
Helping clients understand their customers better with data and act upon the results is Antti’s key strength.
Previously Antti has worked at Google and currently he is the CGO at Houston Analytics.
Antti’s book on artificial intelligence (Tekoäly – matkaopas johtajalle) was the best-selling business book of 2018 in Finland.
Dr. Marc Stierand, a former chef in Michelin-starred restaurants, is Associate Professor of Service Management and the Founding Director of the Institute of Business Creativity (IBC) at the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL). He is widely regarded as an expert in creativity, aesthetics, and sensory knowing, particularly in the culinary world and is also an Executive Committee Member of the Swiss Food and Nutrition Valley (SFNV).
Kalle Ruuskanen, also board member of Fredman Group, is a leading expert in customer experience and change management in the Nordic countries. He has more than two decades of experience in carrying out large-scale transformation projects, leading international super brands and creating classics, including Kotipizza and Jungle Juice Bar food service businesses. Kalle has also served SSP Nordic as the CEO.
